RIDER: Greg Gothie’s 2016 Dyna Lowrider

I picked up this 2016 Dyna Low Rider on August 22, 2017, exactly 6 six months after getting my first bike, a 2006 dyna.

Back in February of 2017 after searching around for a few months, I thought it would be cool to get a Harley. I’ve always loved anything with two wheels, especially anything that got my adrenaline pumping. So, I had made myself a goal, to get myself a bike by my 20th birthday. I looked all over the place for the perfect bike. I was looking primarily at baggers however, when I went to look at a road glide about an hour away from where I live, I ended up finding the bike for me. I ended up falling in love with this little 2006 Dyna that was pretty much bone stock. As soon as I got home, I knew right away it needed a few things to make it look better and set it apart from the rest. So, that’s where it began. I was constantly researching parts and looking to find things that I had never seen on bikes anywhere in Massachusetts. So, I started off simple with a set of 12-inch T-bars and a seat. From there I just kept adding to it. Once I had finished and it looked exactly how I wanted it to, I decided that it was time for a new platform. That’s when I just so happened to stumble across this 2016 Low Rider with the exact paint job that I was hoping to find.

Since I gained all of this experience with my first bike it didn’t take long at all to have parts arriving at my door. I had a new box on my doorstep every day when I got home from work and headed straight to the garage to work on my new bike. It quickly came together but I just couldn’t stop making it better. I went through three different exhausts before finding the Sawicki Speed Shop exhaust which I now have on both of my bikes. I also tried two sets of handlebars before falling in love with the Big Al’s Cycles bars and risers. I second guessed myself a lot about what to put on the bike to make it look exactly how I wanted it, but I could be happier with the way it turned out. So, now that I have two bikes, I often ride my 2016 but still spend time on my 2006. When I had originally gotten my 2006 my dad wanted to get a bike as well but was never able to make it work. So, the day I got my 2016 I had called him and told him I bought a new bike, he asked what I was going to do with my old bike so, I told him it was his to take whenever he wanted.

Ever since I got my first bike it has changed everything. All of my friends went out and bought bikes for themselves after seeing how much excitement mine brought to me. Now, we are all always together either working on bikes or exploring, trying to see who can find the windiest back road. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve met so many great people and gone a lot of different places that I would never have come across if wasn’t for my bikes.
