We wanted our Harley-Davidson Pan America ADV motorcycle to look different than the other Vivid Black Pan Ams rolling around. So while at Sturgis Rally we hooked up with our pal, real-deal artist, and pinstriper Monte Roach of Roach Kustoms.
We have been chasing Roach Kustoms around the country for years trying to get Monte to stripe up one of our project bikes. But it seems as if every show, bike week or event we go to, the Roach Kustoms crew are slAmmed with jobs. Luckily for us there was a break in the action and we rolled our Pam Am into is booth just in the knick of time.
Once the bike was cleaned off and ready to paint, we talked about what we wanted. Monte was given free reign on the design and colors he was going to use when pinstriping the 1250cc cycle. Mr Roach hit it hard and fast and with his skilled and steady hand he worked his magic. Monte Started pinstriping at a young age. and now he is quite the master of his Kustom Kulture craft.
It was a joy to sit down and talk to the Roach Kustoms crew while at the black hills rally. We were amazed at his versatility and keen eye for design. The flow of his pinstriping brush and the control he has of it makes the craft look easy. And it is anything but easy. Most people lend a good part of their lives to be as good as Monte Roach is. Some say that he has One Shot striping paint in his blood. we say he is a hard worker. Peep the video and see for yourself.
