Born in 1980 in East LA, California Maggie grew up competitively swimming at just four years of age. This led to a childhood of playing water polo at both the club level and in high school. She was playing at a senior level, taking her talents internationally with Team USA and a win at the Junior Olympics.
Life had other plans for Maggie, with her becoming a young mother while still in high school and then becoming a single mother of three by the time she hit 23. This led to Maggie transitioning from athlete to becoming a nursing student. After graduating as a medical assistant and phlebotomist, Maggie worked in the medical industry for 18 years.
All the while Maggie enjoyed being on the back of street bikes and putting around on dirt bikes with the kids, then she had a chance meeting with Jeff G. Holt, who at the time was the editor and brand director of Hot Bike, Baggers, and Street Chopper magazines, over a few drinks. They hit it off right away, and Maggie was quickly thrust into the world of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
After a few cross-country trips on the back of Jeff’s bike, Maggie decided she had had enough and signed up to take the H-D Riding Academy class at her local H-D dealership.
After completely falling in love with riding motorcycles, she entered the world of custom and performance motorcycles. Being the daughter of an ex-drag racer/auto mechanic, she has been working on her own cars and trucks since she was a teen, so being hands-on with her own bike building was second nature.
Now, for over half a decade, Maggie has been on the road as part-owner of the V-Twin Visionary media circus, putting on shows from coast to coast, all the while riding, building, and maintaining her own motorcycles.
“I am in love with motorcycles. It just hits me on so many different levels. The speed, the style, and being able to customize my own motorcycle to reflect my own personal way of being and individual taste makes it all worth so much to me.” Maggie stated.
