Recording group intercom is a challenge many motovloggers face – Sena’s 10C EVO and 50C communicators with integrated cameras have been a solution to this for years. Now, with the new functionality of GoPro12, you can record intercom audio and video footage with any model of Sena, by connecting Mesh Port Red.
GoPro now offers the ability to record Bluetooth headset audio with the new GoPro 12. Now, you can use your Sena, earbuds or other Bluetooth headset as a GoPro microphone. However, there’s a caveat and Sena has a solution.
What’s important to know: A GoPro 12 connected to a motorcycle communication system alone (Sena or a competitor), the GoPro operator will only record their own headset audio. It will be impossible to connect to a group intercom signal and will not record any other riders.
Sena has a solution: The Sena Mesh Port Red. Connect this device to the GoPro 12 via wireless Bluetooth connection. The Mesh Port Red will relay a Mesh intercom signal onwards to the Sena Mesh network, allowing the GoPro 12 to join the Mesh. (If it sounds complicated, don’t worry, it’s simple!)
Once a GoPro 12 is connected to Mesh Port Red, the operator can not only control GoPro 12 with voice commands: they can also record their voice, their friends’ voices and maintain intercom connection with the group they’re riding with.
