We are in the midst of our no-bummer summer with the Harley-Davidson presented V-Twin Visionary USA Tour and the Myrtle Beach event stop was a quick one indeed. But that’s not to say that it wasn’t packed with fun every minute we were there!
On Friday night we pulled into town the night before the Myrtle Beach Performance Bike Show and were lucky enough to stay in the Rowley White x Genesis Supreme Toy Hauler trailer a block from Myrtle’s best rally event location; Suck, Bang, Blow, where we needed to set up the next morning for the show.
We had some quick dinner in the RV and walked over to Suck, Bang, Blow to see some friends, watch some bands and have a few libations. As always it was a fun time had by all and we stayed out probably a little too late for a group of folks who needed to be up early setting up and producing the biggest and best bike show in Myrtle Beach.
But nonetheless we were up a daylight, pulled into our spot at Suck, Bang, Blow, and with the help of our staff and a great group pf volunteers, we got set up and ready to rock rather quickly. This time we figure we would take a bit more space than last year, which was about 1/4 of the parking lot that was available to us. So we took half for 2022.
The bikes started rolling in about 10am, and the parking lot was pumping thanks to our trailer’s Rockford Fosgate sound system, and by the time it hit noon, we were in need of more room for show bikes, Our show had all the heavy hitters from the East Coast, Southern States, and even some bikes from Texas and the Great Lakes showed up to be part of the event.
The show almost tripled in size from last year showing that Performance bikes and performance bike riders in this area of the country are hitting hard. Guys and gals are giving up their big wheel baggers in favor of bikes that actually ride good and look good while doing it. Road Glides dominated the event with Street Glides, M8 Softail, and Dyna, really rounding out the bikes. We were really fired up with a half dozen clean FXRs showed up and even a real-deal XR 750 made the event.
Towards the end of the show the SBC Performance-made awards were given out to the Best of Show winner and all other 10 class winners as well. Then we all had shots of Barenjager Honey Bourbon to celebrate! Many of the show goers and bike show entrants hung out with us all night at Suck, Bang, Blow till we crawled back in the trailer for a bit of sleep.
The first thing Sunday morning we were up at 7am and hitting the road back west to Tennessee for next weekend’s H-D x VTV event at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch for the Tennessee Motorcycles and Music Revival to do it all over again. See y’all out there!
