How did you get into motorcycles?

My Grandpa was a Harley mechanic back in the 60S and my dad was into bikes and had a body shop back in Detroit. I worked with him restoring street rods and muscle cars. Then I got sick of “car people” and built my first bike in 2003 and that all it took to get into motorcycles.

How did you get into customizing bikes professionally?

I started building out of my garage in Detroit back in 2003 I was working at a Pontiac dealership as a bodyman/painter and when the Pontiac line got axed I went full time with Chop Docs.

What are the pitfalls of owning your own business? 

Getting time to get out and ride all these bikes I have built. .

What are some of the good things about it?

Taking it day by day and enjoying it while it happens. life is short!

What kind of people make up your clientele?

Its mostly custom paint and fab right now. whether it be for other pro bike builders or a guy or gal who is sick of their original paint.

 We love the stripped-down and clean look of your bikes. Is that you are mainly into?

Yeah man. mean and lean is where its at for me.

What part of building bikes do you like the most?

The creativity and the whole process of building a bike piece by piece.

What part do you detest? 

I like it all man. even the wiring. Haha!

What was your first motorcycle?

It was a 1976 Yamaha 175 enduro

What is your all-time favorite motorcycle?

Its a tie. Ron Finch’s Odens Axe and Jesse James’ WCC Gold digger

What do you like about riding motorcycles?

The peace and scenery on being cage-free.

How have motorcycles changed your life?

It’s my life now. I eat sleep and pay my bills with motorcycles. It is not an easy thing to do, but I get by.

Who or what have you gained inspiration from?

A lot of good people like TG Speed and Clay Cobb have taught me everything when I broke in the industry and they are still inspiration


What has changed your personal life for the better?

Everthing some good and shitty people you meet in the industry 

What has changed your personal life for the worse? 

Zero. Since I have been my own boss my life is all gravy!

Just learn your craft and do it to the best of your ability
