The S&S Cycle 330-0339 Easy Start Camshaft is designed to facilitate a smoother engine startup by initially reducing crank compression. Once the engine reaches higher RPMs, the centrifugal retraction of the compression release lobe allows the engine to operate with full compression, ensuring no performance loss. This high-lift camshaft is ideal for modified engines with 106 cubic inches or greater and compression ratios between 10.0:1 and 11.0:1, providing optimal power output in the 3,000 to 6,000 RPM range. Crafted in the USA, this camshaft kit includes essential components such as camshafts, a 4-gear set, gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, o-ring, threat lock, and detailed instructions, making it a comprehensive upgrade for your motorcycle.
Designed for use with stock, un-ported heads or S&S CNC ported heads (recommended), the camshaft requires high-lift valve springs, adjustable pushrods, and clearance checks to ensure proper installation and performance. It is not a bolt-in upgrade and is not suitable for models equipped with OEM compression releases. Due to the gear drive system, users may notice increased valve train noise compared to standard setups. This camshaft is ideal for riders seeking increased performance and smooth startup in custom and high-performance Harley-Davidson Twin Cam and Dyna models from 2006 to 2017, making it a reliable choice for serious enthusiasts and professional tuners.
