What do you do for money?
I have been a professional BMX rider for over 20 years. BMX endorsements is the majority of my income. I also build custom cars from my home shop and have a few sponsors that support my builds.
How did you get into motorcycles?
I grew up in Southern California surrounded by custom cars and motorcycles. My introduction to motorcycles was through my dad at an early age.
What was your first motorcycle?
Yamaha Zinger 50, I was 5 or so. Rode that fucker right into a fence full speed. Scared my self from riding it for a while.
What do you currently ride?
My current bike is a 18 Harley Davidson Street Bob. Loving the new Softail platform. And Yes, like the rest of the world I am still getting my head around calling it a Softail.
What is your all-time favorite motorcycle?
Im going to give you five of my favorites, I can’t pick. Cole Foster’s Blue Bobber. Jordan Dickinson’s Panhead. Joe Petralis’ 36 Land Speed Bike. Roger Goldammer’s Green Single Cylinder and Prism Supply’s Blue Knucklehead
What attracted you to motorcycles?
Originally it was simply getting out and riding, ripping around. Now its a mix of riding and building bikes.
What do you like about riding motorcycles?
It similar to riding BMX, a great a way to clear your head. Road trips would be my favorite thing to do with motorcycles. Checking out new places, with friends. I don’t consider my self a biker by any means, but I have rode through most of the states in the US.
How have motorcycles changed your life?
Its changed my life more recently. As I have aged in my BMX career it has continued the excitement of hitting the road with my friends. BMX is ever changing and moving. New riders come in, events become more competitive every year. Riding motorcycles with your friends is simply enjoyable and removed from being competitive. You can ride motorcycles into your elder years and do it on your own terms.
Who or what have you gained inspiration from?
Everything really. Artists in general inspire me daily. In the motorcycle world Roger Goldammer is really inspiring to me. He builds bikes that are completely original. Roger hand builds every element of his bikes and will kick your ass riding just about any type of motorcycle. And I have found him to be extremely humble. He’s just a bad ass guy, doing his own thing.
What has changed your life for the better?
My wife and son. My son has given me more to work towards both personally and professionally.
What has changed your life for the worse?
Age. It has made hang overs miserable, haha.. Nah, I truthfully don’t focus on shit that makes my life worse. I simply just adjust and focus on the positives in life.
Any other statements or slander you would like the world to know?
I would like the world to know that Jeff Holt is a true BMXer even if he looks like a dirtbag biker.
And I always take the time to enjoy the people who have supported me. Friends, family and brands that believe in my goofy ideas. Red Kap and all my sponsors for supporting me as my career has evolved. And Holt for always keeping me in mind.
