Deep in the downtown area of Garden Grove, California is an institution of custom motorcycles. Since the late 1970’s Wheel Works has been not only just swapping tires and doing service work, they have been at the forefront of custom wheels. When big companies and known bike builders need weird wheel and tires sizes installed on their show bikes by people who know, they come to Wheel Works. When race teams need new hoops laced up to factory works hubs, they come to Wheel Works. Why you ask? Because they use old-world techniques to get modern day results. One glance around the shop and you already know this place has history. Looking at the spoke cutting and threading machines that were built decades ago will also clue you in. Walking through this place one can see the evolution of custom wheels whether it be extreme chopper, big-wheel bagger, or performance H-D’s. They have truly been there and done that.
